Excess Estrogen:
Pills, Pesticides, Petroleum and Plastics

There are many substance in our environment and food chain that mimic the actions of hormones. Certain chemicals are confirmed hormone disruptors whereas others might have effects that are described somewhat differently. Vitex agnus castus

Chaste berries are female hormone regulators, especially where there is excess estrogen and low progesterone. This herb is the cornerstone of many Western gynecological programs, including the menstrual cycle, infertility, and menopause. It is thought to work through the pituitary body, not directly on the hormones of the reproductive system. The berries are also used to relieve paralysis and nerve pain.

Trigonella foenum-graecum

Fenugreek is used in Ayurvedic medicine to lower blood sugar and reduce cholesterol. It works by delaying absorption of glucose because of balanced chemical structure. In Western herbal medicine, it has been used to promote breast development, lactation, and libido; reduce PMS and menopausal symptoms; regulate blood sugar; and aid thinking. It is high in antioxidants and is used to retard aging. It is nutritive and used for convalescing patients as well as those suffering from anorexia.

Silybum marianum

Milk thistle is one of the most famous liver herbs. It is both hepatoprotective as well as effective in the treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the liver and gall bladder, including inflammation, swelling, and cirrhosis.

Rose hips come from the fruit of wild roses and are very high in vitamin C. Though this product was originally added because of its reputation for helping alcoholics to overcome addiction, studies in Scandinavia suggest that one of its major benefits is for osteoarthritis sufferers due it is anti-inflammatory properties. For the same reason, it is often recommended for colds and asthma.
